Moderation FAQ

What is allowed on Orbit, how reporting works, and what bans and suspensions mean.

What is allowed

Original and shared content

Post your own photos, videos and thoughts, or reshare content you have the right to use. Credit creators where possible.

Respectful conversation

Disagree without insulting. Debate is welcome; harassment, hate speech and personal attacks are not.

Private groups and DMs

Chat freely with friends and in groups, as long as everyone consents. Use chat privacy to control who can reach you.

Reporting what feels wrong

Flag a post, profile or message that breaks the rules. Reports are reviewed by moderators and help keep Orbit safe.

What is not allowed

Harassment and hate

Threats, slurs, targeted harassment, bullying and incitement to violence are removed and can lead to a ban.

Illegal and harmful content

Anything illegal — including content that exploits minors, non-consensual intimate media, and terrorism — is prohibited and may be reported to authorities.

Spam, scams and impersonation

Fake accounts, deceptive links, mass unsolicited messages and pretending to be someone you are not are not allowed.

Sharing private data without consent

Do not post another person's address, phone number, private photos or any information they did not agree to share.

Bypassing blocks and bans

Creating new accounts to contact someone who blocked you, or to get around a suspension or ban, is treated as a further violation.

How actions work

How you find out

Appeal a decision

If you were banned, suspended, or had content removed and you believe it was a mistake, you can ask the moderation team to review it again.

  1. 1. Open Data requests and choose the request type Object.
  2. 2. Write your username, the date of the action, and why you think it was wrong. Add anything that helps (screenshots, context of the conversation).
  3. 3. Send it. A moderator who did not take the original decision reviews the appeal and can lift a ban, shorten a suspension, or confirm the action with a note.

Appeals are usually answered within a few days. One appeal per action is enough — repeated or abusive appeals may be closed without a reply, and creating new accounts to get around a restriction will not lift it.

Official moderation contact

These are the only official channels. Anyone else claiming to be an Orbit moderator is not — never share your password or verification codes.

These rules exist to keep Orbit safe for everyone. More detail is in Privacy & Terms.
